Wow.
It’s been a while. And we have been busy, as I am sure you have.
I just went into the attic yesterday to get out all the cold-weather clothes. I know some of you have already been wearing sweaters and hats for weeks, but not us in the deep south. I went through looking for the right sizes for 12 months, 3T, and 7-8 boys. I had to check and see what would fit the boys and what they might need. And now that I saw what we have and what we can use, I realize there are a few things that we need, especially for the oldest.
So I am on a mission now. I have to find some cold-weather clothes: sweaters and pants for my 6-year old; a hat for my 3-year old; and a little bit of everything for the 12-month old.
Most other parents are probably on a similar quest- to find fall clothes for their kiddos.
It’s a good thing, then, that there are lots of cool fall clothing and accessories that not only will the kids love and use, but that are affordable!
Fall is definitely one of our family’s favorite times of year; and we plan on staying warm, snug, and stylish without breaking the bank.
Kids are wonderful. One of the best things about them is how easy it can be to make their day. Even the simplest of gestures can go a long way with children.
The other day I was just browsing and happened upon a cool and affordable shirt that I knew my 3-year old boy would love. Right now he is in a robot phase; he loves all things robots. He draws them; he builds them with LEGOs; he pretends to be one. He is a robot fanatic. So then I saw this cool robot shirt and I imagined the look on his face and his delight at having this shirt. Now, I am not usually one to make a purchase without much thought and consideration, but this was a relatively small purchase that would bring him so much joy that I went ahead an bought it without waiting another minute.
And sure enough, he was ecstatic when he saw a package in the mail for him. And when we opened it he was beside himself with excitement. Of course, he wanted to wear it right away!
It’s been about one week since he got that shirt, but he asks to wear it every day.
What a small price to pay for a child’s delight.
Wow! The New Year, 2009, is already upon us. Traditionally, the New Year is a great time to reflect on our lives and make resolutions that will help us live more effective lives throughout the next 12 months.
And with today’s economy, I am sure that saving money is on top of most everyone’s resolution list. The good news is that right now happens to be a great time to get bargains on all kinds of stuff, including kids clothing. So if you got money or certificates as Christmas presents, you can get a lot more for your money with all the great sales going on. Shop around and you are sure to find some smart buys right now.
Another popular New Year’s resolution is to go green and have a less negative impact on the economy. One way Mod Baby Clothes can help you do that is to offer you the complete line of Boo Bear Buns laundry detergents. They are a “Greener Clean natural laundry detergents were designed for contact with the most sensitive skin. Perfect for cloth diapers and baby clothes. Natural handmade laundry detergent scented with natural essential oils. Utilizes natures best cleaning agents.”
If spending more time with your family doing things that matter made it onto your 2009 Resolutions list, then you should be happy. You are well onto your way to accomplish that when you do your shopping on-line. Forget long lines and traffic and the hassle of scheduling it around other activities. The internet has surely revolutionized the shopping experience and made shopping much more efficient and less time consuming.
The great thing about a New Year is that it offers us a chance to start all over again. The old year is past. The New Year is fresh and full of opportunities, including opportunities for positive changes. Let’s take full advantage of that and start taking steps to having a wonderful 2009!
We are very excited that it’s Christmas Eve and are looking forward to a wonderful Holiday Season. We wish you all the best this Holiday Season and may your New Year be wonderful as well!!
Cheers!!!
One of my favorite things about the holidays, besides the celebration of family and friends and tradition, is the opportunity to dress up the kids in special clothes.
When I was a child, we dressed up for church every week, for special days like birthdays, and then for the holidays. Today society is more casual and most people do not dress up much for most occasions.
But I enjoy making the holidays even more special by dressing up a little. And the kids do, too. They realize it’s a special occasion when they they get to wear their “dressy” clothes and for the most part, like looking good. This is especially true for little girls, who get to look like little princesses in beautiful dresses.
It’s nice to look good and remember the specialness of the holidays, and don’t forget there will be lots of pictures, too!
My 5-year old and 2-year old love super heroes. They like to play like they are super heroes. They like to dress up like super heroes. They like to wear their super hero shirts.
But there is an on-going debate in my house over who is the coolest super hero. My 5-year old prefers Spiderman. He has had a Spiderman birthday; he has Spiderman bedding; he has several Spiderman character shirts. On the other had, my 2-year old leans towards Batman. He has a Batman trike; he plays like he is Batman every day, wearing his Batman costume; he even has the cutest Batman pajamas, complete with a little cape!
And I don’t mind at all that they have this little debate going on. The truth is that Super Heroes are cool, even to adults. (Hey, The Dark Knight and Iron Man weren’t made for kids!) And they teach good morals to kids. So when my boys want super hero clothes like a cool super hero t-shirt, I don’t mind forking out a few bucks to an idea so classically American, full of good ‘ol American morals, and that’s just plain fun!
I was at a 5-year olds birthday party last weekend and it was so overwhelming the amount of TOYS this boy was getting. The boxes and wrapping paper littered the entire living room floor and the toys were piling up. It was almost to the point where some toys were getting lost underneath all the other toys. And I know for a fact that this boy had no shortage of toys and gadgets because this boy is my own son. If you walk around my house, you will see toys practically everywhere; the toys belong to my three sons.
And Christmas is just around the corner.
It’s not that we do not appreciate the gifts and the warm thoughts that come with each gift. It’s just that sometimes there are just too many toys in the house.
So here is an idea that will help trim down the amount of toys children receive on birthdays and holidays: Give the wonderful (and always appreciated) gift of cool clothes!
We happily welcome non-toys as gifts, especially awesome clothes. Let’s face it, growing children are always needing new clothes. And we are happy when our child gets some cool, new clothes. And they are happy, too. You may think that children will not be as excited about receiving clothes as gifts, but that simply is not the case. My children have had many “favorites” when it comes to clothing: clothes they love to wear over and over, especially on special occasions. Most of these favorites were gifts.
The holidays are fast approaching. If you have children on your gift list, consider giving some unique, cool clothes. The kids will be happy and the parents will thank you!
